A few airlines & a few retailers are piloting dynamic pricing. Dynamic Pricing helps retailers, hotels, and airlines to offer the right price with the right message to the right target customer in real time. AI raises the price when demand rises and reduces the price when the opposite happens.

But this gets better. AI with GPU technology from companies like Nvidia installed in a camera can now help identify moving objects and take an action. This allows for warehouse & distribution organizations that use AI to be notified when a product is low on a shelf. But it also allows the organization to do real time inventory counts and replacement inventory just at the right time. This allows for massive productivity and profitability improvements for companies leveraging AI.

But, there’s more.

Kiva — a robotics company that automated picking and packing was acquired by Amazon — enables Amazon’s “Click-to-Ship” cycle time, which ranged from 60-75 minutes with humans, to drop to 15 minutes while inventory capacity increased by 50%. As a result, Amazon’s operating costs fell an estimate of 20%; providing a reported ROI of 40%.

Netflix uses artificial intelligence to determine what its members want to watch in less than 90 seconds. The AI quickly analyzes which content has been viewed the most in a certain geography and analyzes the viewers behavior to instantly predict shows that the user will more likely want to watch. As a result, the organization has dramatically reduced cancelled subscriptions which would have cost $1 billion in billings.

Uber, Netflix, Amazon, and fast-moving companies everywhere are leveraging artificial intelligence technologies instead of humans to run various tasks and departments. Studies after studies consistently show companies leveraging AI are growing 20-30% faster than businesses run by humans.
